[YAVP] My first victory! DSFi^Oka
I was trying to make a heavy-armoured Makhlebite to combine blasts & summons with high AC, but I didn't find his altar and got mutations that made it more interesting to go Oka, so I decided to change my plans (after why play a DS if you're not going to roll with the punches?) and advance quickly to get this character killed soon so that i could try again.
As you can tell from this being YAVP rather than YASD, things didn't go as planned!
I found an awesome artifact +7 Scale Mail, which is light enough that the Nightstalker mutation was able to make me very hard to notice. Enough to take all the monsters in the Lair 1 on 1, without ever having to deal with packs. Adding that to rPois and rElec (for the couple of eel floors), it made lair a breeze.
Then when I was cleaning out the last worms in L:8, Oka gifted me that awesome +11 Crystal Plate Armour. That made pretty much the ENTIRE rest of the game a breeze.
Those two armours are at least 90% of the reason why a character I was planning to kill quickly managed to win.
