YAVP: DDHe*Jiyva allruned in 63000 turns!

I had a lot of nice realtime records but nothing really good turncount-wise (my former record being 115000 turns, 15 runes), so I decided to change this. DDHe was the obvious choice.
It ended up in me not autoexploring at all, pacifying everything and luckily using gourmand. I was rather unhappy with my defences all game, and I didn't find a lot of spare experience for Fighting either. It was hard enough to get Invocations 27 and Axes 26. Nearly all of my levels were half-explored.

After getting 3 runes with Elyvilon I switched to TSO at XL 22 to do Pan with a nice holy executioner's axe and angel buddies. This went pretty well, and I started training some spell skills (Translocations first for Apportation/Blink, then Charms for Haste). Tomb came after a long Abyss trip that was really unfair - 10 gates before the rune, some time before another gate appeared! I really dislike doing Tomb on DD, though, because the torment hurts a lot and you need to either scum for health elsewhere (not an option here, due to turncount loss) or spend a lot of max MP.
Hells were easy, me being XL 27 and sort of strong by then. dis_st is still really annoying even after the Pit Fiend change, which I actually expected to help (they were renamed to Hell Sentinels, and their torment was removed in favour of Iron Shot and spines). I also screwed up on Geh:7 and had a lot of problems killing Asmodeus when my MP for Cleansing Flame ran out.

Without a way of non-TSO/wand healing, I switched to Jiyva for my last rune, went to Orc, killed Roka and sacrificed the whole Mines to Jiyva before getting my rune.

Again, I was a little scared of doing a branch with no real way of healing - this time it was Zot - so I just stole the orb using Controlled Blink and Haste, taking about 50 damage in the process.

Orb run could have been easier, there were tons of pandemonium lords and Hell Sentinels. Also, I was an idiot, forgot my !d inscription on the orb and had to run down to D:14 from D:1, because I dropped it down there and didn't notice till the "This will make you lose the game! Really leave the dungeon? y/n" message. On the bright side, I met Sigmund on D:2 on my "second acend". I gave the bastard what he deserves. ;)

Finally a good win turncount-wise! :)

Wait a minute...I don't see TRJ on the kill list (as should be for a faithful Jiyvan). If you were also "the" Royal Jelly for being at 6* piety, wouldn't that make you just a Royal Jelly?

How much did you use device recharging? I'm thinking that HOHe is about as good as DDHe for what you did, since you get comparable apts and less potential food problems (saprovore and you can save a few minor healings because you heal up naturally as you walk from one place to another) but you lose device recharging.

Additionally the HOHe high score is easier to beat than the DDHe one :p

Actually this does sound pretty viable (ring of regen or so will of course help further). I think I'll have to try it out soon. :)
I used device recharging about 12 times for Tomb:3 I think, and a couple (5?) in Hells. I know it seems like a lot more in the dump, but that is because I used it about 20 times on my screwed up ascent so I didn't lose these maxMP during the actual game. HOHe would miss it on Tomb:3 (probably losing 2-3k turns here, but also working much more safely) but could just heal normally/TSO heal in hells and on the ascent.

If you find projected noise you can just clear tomb:3 with that and lose no time at all. Clear Tomb:1 normally, rtele tomb 2, then proj noise in Tomb 3 so you don't even see any mummies.

You just use it to get all the mummies into a corner of the level. This is the most recent time I did it (it was on the orb run for the Fedhas 3 banner which is why I have some demons to fight off).
