CIP- Should I keep charging ahead?

I almost never play (kill off) melee characters but this one has been facerollerific. An early pair of boots of running made me very happy, and the scroll of acquirement that gave me a rod of venom gives me access to my favorite "poison cloud and run away" technique, so this guy has had very few problems. Several orc high priests and sorcerers were dealt with by BiA and running until I got the kill message, and a couple of pots let me two-shot an orc warlord. The problem is that I am afraid to go much further (and in which direction?). I am also lacking jewelry. Aside from {the ring "Wishiaci" {Hunger rF-}, I am carrying all jewelry I have found, and I don't fancy running around with the rC"X" that putting on that nice dragon armor I bought on orc 4 (there was nothing else decent). On the other hand, I do (think) I have a decent selection of other armor and I am not sure what to wear.

Normally I'd run regular dungon until it got hard(ish) and then branches, but I am not sure about melee characters. My fear is that the lack of tools will kill me if I get too deep and get into trouble (no see invis bugs me). Any tips.

Final question, how is my skills? Is it worth picking a ranged attack to branch into, and if so what?

go annihilate lair, when you encounter death yaks or elephants try to get em 1v1 and feel their threat level. pretty sure you will easily kill them. I'd probably go back to the dungeon for a while after that.

Re: CIP- Should I keep charging ahead?

you have rPois, swamp should be doable. Elf is not advisable without sInv. Dungeon and Vaults also feature invisible stalkers etc, check if you can get a ring in an ork shop or somewhere if you did not find one in the swamp. remember that you don't have to go for the swamp rune yet, if you feel threatened by the end vault stay away and come back later.

Vaults are done....even packs of death yaks were not scary when I could bottle neck them and fill the bottle with poison gas.

I'll try swamps, but aside from some glowing banded mail, the only thing the orc shops gave me was the dragon armor, as I said in my first post, this guy has not gotten much jewelry yet. On the other hand, rpois + gourmand = stuffed silly all the time.

If you did V:1-7, then swamp 1-4 should be a cake walk.
