YASD! Constriction in the abyss

Ugh. Got surrounded by a bunch of critters and a large abomination in the abyss. The abomination constricted me. I wasted two turns trying to "control blink" out of the constriction until I noticed that neither blink nor c.blink does work in the abyss at all (I knew only about normal blink)! Than I read a tele scroll, but as you know... they take quite some turns to work in the abyss. Tried to keep myself alive with 8 charges of heal wounds and some pots of curing, but resistance was futile.

Conclusion: I should have tried to kill the abomination, instead of wasting >10 Turns to flee. Blinking/Teleportation seems like a reflex to constriction though.
