CiP: Zerker round 2

Alright, I have been trying to get an unarmed demonspawn off the ground forever and I finally got some good items early enough to keep me alive. I have a pretty good crossbow and was wondering if it was worth it to level the skill up and if so what level should I aim for? What level should I get my dudes armor skill up to too? Just cleared lair so I still have a good bit ahead of me so any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Re: CiP: Zerker round 2

I'd say take Armour all the way to 27. Also Dodge. Since you don't care about Trog's weapon gifts you might as well keep going with Crossbow and enjoy the rain of good bolts. Also Fighting can be maxed, and T&D you want at 8 at the very least by the meat of the midgame, when Zot traps start showing up. One of those can ruin your whole day.

Basically with an unarmed melee build you're going to have XP to spare so pump up everything you use. I'd turn off UC for a while and go with Armour or Fighting as my next focus.

Re: CiP: Zerker round 2

Might be worth it to get UC up to 20 for the next delay breakpoint before turning it off. The delay breakpoints are every 5 - at 25 UC you've hit min delay of 5, 20 is 6. The other two levels after 25 are only worth investing in much later on.

Re: CiP: Zerker round 2

The armour is nice but you'll want to upgrade to plate eventually for the better AC. That crossbow is also nice, but only for now when your ranged accuracy isn't that good. Later on you'll definitely want to upgrade to maybe a vorpal +9,+9 crossbow for damage.
