Hi all! This is my first post here on this forum. I want to show you all my most accomplished character so far, a Demigod Wanderer (lol)! Yeah, I don't like the idea of worshipping a god, so this was the perfect choice for me, plus I like to be a jack of all trades, so the wanderer seemed fitting enough for me. And infact it is! I hope you are using that demon trident. It's one of the best weapons you could want if you have Necromancy skill, and that spear is rubbish because it's a spear. The former is the best one-handed polearm type; the latter is the worst.
So - you have a decent Necromancy book (get Pain and Dispel Undead), the Necronomicon (get Borgnjor's Revivication) and a great pain weapon. Raise Polearms to 14 first, then Necromancy to ~15 for pain weapon damage and Borgnjor's Revivication. And I'm talking about raising skills one at a time here (something you should always do).
Also, you're in troll leather, have a lot of Armour skill but barely any Dodging? That's a fault, it's very light armour. Turn Armour off. Same goes for Shields - you might want to train it to 15 and get a normal-sized shield soonish, but for now Polearms and Necromancy are extremely important.

My personal skill progress now would be:
1) Polearms 14
2) Necromancy 15 (possibly Spellcasting if you can't amnesia some stuff you don't need, like Ignite Poson, Cure Poison, Fire Brand, Sting)
3) Shields 15 (if normal-sized shield is available)
4) Dodging ~10.
5) Spellcasting till you have enough spell levels to cast Haste
6) Charms till Haste is Great

Additionally, I'd swap out the troll leather if I had a good robe (rF+, resistance, MR) or some (mottled/swamp) dragon armour because it isn't very good. Throw away the potions of mutation, you are never going to be needing them. Quaffing them is one of the silliest things one can do in Crawl.
You are putting stat points in Intelligence, right? Can't tell from DgWn stats. STR and DEX aren't useless but inferior to INT on nearly every character that casts spells.

A Demon Trident of Pain is a very solid weapon - if you have the Necromancy skill to back it up. That spear is worth holding onto as a swap for rPois but it is not nearly as good a weapon. Seeing as you also have Necromancy spellbooks, I would think about training up some Necromancy, or possibly a lot of Necromancy.

Haste is worth training charms up for.

You have a huge pile of unID'd scrolls and potions. There's no real reason to sit on un-ID'd scrolls; do you have Identify identified? If not maybe some of those are ID and you can ID your potions. If you just don't have any I would advise using any more ID scrolls to ID your potions, and stash un-ID'd ones so they don't get frozen. You also shouldn't be walking around with valuable non-emergency scrolls like Enchant Armour or Recharging, they can burn. 9 potions of might is probably more than you need at all times too; you can store spares.

I would be strongly inclined to use Teleport Control over Sustenance except when traveling through safe areas or things like that. Semi-controlled blink can save your life. If you are having food problems, swap out the rMut amulet for Gourmand and put it back on if you run into a Neqoxec or something; you are unlikely to find mutating enemies very often in the regular dungeon. You can also do stuff like put on Gourmand, chill for a bit, kill some things, stuff yourself to Engorged, and take it off, then repeat.

EDIT: Ninja'd, and Cerebov's advice about turning off Armour and Shields is good too.

As I am quite a noob to this game, I expected my character to have several flaws, thanks to pointing them out. My main focus is to be a spellcaster, yes, and that trident is my main weapon for good reason, I swapped over to that spear because of a very ugly thing nearby. Anyway, as a jack of all trades, I'd want also to be an armoured spellcaster, so that's why I've been upping my Armour skill, hoping to be able to wear the golden dragon armour someday, but I'll follow your advice.

I have Identify identified, used it for several scrolls potions and jewellery. Having checked out the possible good mutations, I wanted to give a shot at those mutation pots, but not before having atleast a potion of cure mutation. And don't worry, thats exactly what I've been doing so far with all that jewellery. :p (btw, I got swarmed several times by very ugly things, damn monsters) Thanks to you too for the advice!

While not impossible, spellcasting, other than low level buffs, in golden dragon armor is at least very unlikely. It's really for the all-out melee types who need the resistances and extra GDR to counteract the fact that they don't have a swiss-army knife of spells to support them.

On the other hand, casting in a nice fire, frost, or pearl dragon armor is much more attainable by a hybrid caster.

If it's your intention to play mutation roulette, I'd still recommend dropping the potions of mutation someplace and coming back for them later. They take up space in your inventory and are vulnerable to destruction from cold effects. When you do come across a cure mutation potion, you might want to wait until you have at least two before trying your luck. That way you can hang on to one in case something else sticks you with a bad mutation.
