YAVP : Merfolk Berserker

Finally ! after months of playing i won a four runer with my Merfolk Berserker.

Some advantages to this build :
+4 polearms
+3 dodging
+1 fighting
+0 shields
%120 leveling speed
can travel through water

The last one (water travel) was of particular awesomeness while travelling through the abyss.

at max level i had maxed polearm, dodging, and fighting, and lvl 25 in shields.

Also, I abandoned trog to worship TSO end game - and waited out his wrath over a pool of deep water. wearing a ring of sustenence and an amulet of faith, when Trog finally lost interest in me I had almost max TSO piety. so awesome.

and a +8 blessed Trishula was an awesome weapon.

tips -
early on an amulet of guardian spirit is great, it helps you stay alive.
level up your weapon skill ASAP to increase attack speed / to hit chance.
wear light armor early on to maximise your dodge chance.
wear a buckler at shield skill 5 - 15, then switch to a shield to avoid negative attack bonuses.

Re: YAVP : Merfolk Berserker

Congratulations! :)
Which version?
I ask because 0.10 now has inbuilt reaching on polearms, and I'd be interested in how the older version compares.
My Merfolk wizard has just got his demon trident blessed, and I'd agree with your assessment of the trishiula.

Re: YAVP : Merfolk Berserker

It was 0.9. you bring up a good point on the polearm intristic reaching for 0.10. This build will probably be even easier then. :)

Return to YASD! YAVP! and characters in progress too
