YAVP - DGAE - 15 Runes
One day I couldn't decide what god I wanted to play with when I was generating a character, so I started a random demigod. An air elementalist. It stormed through the game, only to fall to ineptitude in hell. A few more met their end in hell before I *finally* bothered to learn regeneration. This one, in all my years of crawling, is the first character that has ever used the spell. I don't know how I ever played this game without it.
Anyway, I kept a reasonably tight spell set through the game. An early drop of Mephitic Cloud got the game going. Lightning Bolt and melee did nearly the rest. I only found Airstrike after I'd done the hells and pan. A shame, because it is great for tactical elimination of neqoxecs. Tornado I only got going after I'd cleared Tomb and I cast it only the once or twice in Zot 5 for kicks. I'd read that the Shroud becomes useless after the midgame, but I still saw it bending away attacks from big things right up to the end. It's hard to tell how effective it is, since I was blocking quite a bit also, but it seemed ok.
Look at those stats! Pity Str and Dex don't do more. Demigods wouldn't need the followers change if it were the case.
