Finally I got to see Zot! Too bad I fail at life, huh? But, the bright side is that I killed Mennas, Borris and even the Royal Jelly (well, kinda ninja kill, actually, he spawned a bazillion slimes but we were on a corridor so I just finished him off and since I had ctrl teleport ring and a wand of teleport, I looted the stashes and the rune and left. I was actually trying to get to the (apparently) only Jiyva altar in this game to change god to remove my really bad mutations, but couldn't find the altar before the Royal Jelly. I kinda freaked out and just kept hacking away at him. I had blurred vision 2 + slow 2 and some more. Couldn't find enough pots to remove them. I think I got them all in the Abyss while searhing for the rune. Now I know why a neck of res. mut is important...) Well, anyway, I cleared Shoals and found 1-2 cure mutation pots but they didn't get rid of most of the stuff, since I also had the mut change resistance mutation. That led me to Zot, cause I didn't know where the hell I should go, since I had 5 runes already and my mutations were being really aggressive on the food clock... I didn't have many permafood left and all of them were meat, to which I conveniently had a disliking for. Funny, when i chug-ID'ed my first mutation potion, I got carnivore 1 mutation and could eat chunks more at ease. Anyway...
...There's so much elemental damage in Zot! I had decent resistances but still those draconians hurt a lot! I don't want to know how they hurt you If you don't have any resist gear... And the corrosion, oh the corrosion, is so f'kin annoying. I didn't have any enchant armor scrolls when i finally got my GDA to make it immune before heading anywhere. There weren't many shops in the game selling enchant scrolls. I didn't get a Bazaar or a trove in this run. Although, I must have found about 10 Enchant weapon III in the course of the run on the floor?
When I got the Sword of Jihad from Elf:2, I had innate clarity from a mutation potion so I figured it would rock to play with it with no berserkitis procs. And so I left my already high M&F and I raised my long blades. With such a great one-hander I figured I should get to killing undead and demons, so I went into the Abyss (where I got some extra horrible mutations...), the Crypt, even wandered into Tomb and cleared all I could, but stopped because of an orange crystal statue blocking my way and lack of a ring for stat save. The situations with the sphinx pack got a bit tight but I outdamaged them with oki's abilities. Phew! Entered Hell and killed Geryon, there was a flying skull with a name, that almost killed me after I explored the Vestibule. I killed him too after I went out of Hell and in again buffed. Elf:4 was just terrifying too, near the end. Those master archers hurt! And the tormenting necromancers! Grrrr! But I had a shield of reflect at that point, lol. It helped a bunch against archers and some spells. Maybe I shouldn't have removed it. I just used this artifact one that I got later on. Vaults 8 seemed like work, on the other hand. Lots of stair dancing lads.
All in all, I had a lot of experiences in this run, which makes up for the loss I guess.
Bottomline - I'd like to ask, is it better to leave and join TSO before venturing anywhere with demons and undead? I find torment incredibly overpowering. Do I get immunity at higher piety with TSO?
