I'm on a cleared D5, and I read my unidentified scrolls just to see what I have.
First is butterflies.
Second is immolation.
Third is poison.
Fiery explosions kill me.
All I had to do was wait for the summons to expire. Oh well.
I had found a quicksilver dragon scale on D4, which is pretty good for an early berserker.

When RNG wants your char to be dead it provides you with good items.

Happened to me, too. There was quite a long succession of versions where read-IDing scrolls was basically non-perilous, as long as you stood on stairs and out of sight of monsters. Now you have to pay more attention.
