CIP KoBr TANK -> YASD

After a long break, I have been excited to restart DCSS. I have enjoyed the trunk changes immensely. It sure seems like artefacts are better and useful and easier to find :D ! I was just going to experiment with KoBr (love nightstalker 3) but I turned into an one-hit non-stealthy tank on level 3 then added range with 3 beautiful artefacts (tiles look great in general). Playing carefully for a while because I lack resistances. I'm also not sure how to best use Makhleb. The penalty to ranged attack speed is significant, perhaps worth investing more to reduce it to 1.0 would be good, but Armor is inefficient to skill and is there a hard cap to how much it can reduce the delay? Or more Stealth to give me a little more control over engagement?

I think I'll bail on Lair for the nonce and go for Orcish Mines to see if I can find something nice. (EDIT - it ended with a mistake. I put on a robe of resistance. Forgot to switch back to artefact armor. Surrounded by Orc High Priest summons, Couldn't switch back - heh - I died too soon to teleport. Still, a great run, great demonstration of new mechanics, balance, and new items like wand of roots.)
