I was 13 when I picked up Crawl.

I wrote this long preamble about what my attitude was like then and how I got from there to here and how much it means to me to actually finally beat this accursed game after over a decade, but then I deleted it because I don't think anyone would wanna read it.

IIRC it was the message given when you enter a level where teleport control does not work. And carrying the Orb made all levels prohibit teleport control.

Of course, teleport control was later removed from the game.
