The original Djinni Venom Mage game that I was playing got lost since I took a several month hiatus, probably due to the upgrade to 0.28. That was unfortunate, as I got rather far in that game. So I decide to start a new Djinni Venom Mage game, and hope for the best, which did not happen, as that fighter had the lifetime of a mosquito. Because of that, I will post my log of the unfinished game that I had with my first Venom Mage
Attempt #10: Letting IRL issues take over your life will cost you.I solely concentrate on Fighting, quaff my potion of berserk, and kill Ijyb. I switch to sole Spellcasting training, and face the ogre, where I use Poisonous Vapours and a blinking scroll to win the battle. I then turn on fighting training, quaff a potion of haste, and face Sigmund, who confuses me before I can even get a spell off. I quaff a potion of curing, cast Mephitic Cloud, and repeatedly cast Poisonous Vapours and repeatedly shut a door between us in his face to win the battle. I face the jelly, cast Sting twice, and run away to kill it with poison damage. I kill the yak with Sting and Poisonous vapors, get the Passwall and Swiftness spells, and find that the store is a Book Emporium and is thus useless to my character.
I pick Zin as my god, as that is what Discord suggested. Using the Passwall spell, I pick up several scrolls, and get to an armour Emporium, where I buy the +1 leather armour “Mourmar” {rElec rCorr} read-id and pick up scrolls of identify to identify scrolls of amnesia and silence. After dropping the scrolls of amnesia, I face the slime creature, and use my potion of heal wounds and a potion of berserk rage I picked up to survive the assault. I train spellcasting and fighting equally, and kill the kobold demonologists and floating eye using Olgreb’s Toxic Radiance and Poisonous Vapours. I use Passwall to uselessly get an amulet of faith, use Zin’s Vitalisation ability, cast Swiftness, and open Sonja’s door. Sonja shoots two curare darts that have no effect, and I cast Mephitic Cloud and Poisonous Vapours twice to finish her off. I learn the Frozen Ramparts spell and turn on Dodging training while keeping an emphasis on Fighting and Spellcasting training. I then take on the ballistomycete spores and survive them, get 2 potions of curing and 22 stones that enable me to use Sandblast, and take on the room of shining eyes and floating eyes. Thanks to Zin’s mutation resistance and Olgreb’s Toxic Radiance, I manage to survive the assault without too much trouble. I then go to the four shops, with one of them being a book shoppe, another being a Weapon Emporium without any artifacts, an assorted antiques store that sold 3 scrolls of fog, and a general store that contains a +2 hat of the Bear Spirit {Spirit, +Rage rN+ Will++}, a +9 long sword “Cipt” {flame, Str+2 Int+3}, and a scroll of fog. I buy the scroll of fog, and take out the deep troll using Mephitic Cloud, Poisonous Vapours, and Frozen Ramparts.
I learn the Fireball spell, cast Swiftness, and open the door to the centaur warriors. The centaur warriors get good shots out of me, but I retreat to a corridor, use Mephitic Cloud, Frozen Ramparts, and Poisonous Vapours to dispatch the two centaur warriors. I cast Swiftness again, and use Poisonous Vapours to take out the hornet. I then use Fireball to take out the oklob plant, and use Mephitic Cloud, Frozen Ramparts, and Poisonous Vapours to take out the 2 redbacks.
After that, I end up taking a break that lasts several months due to real life issues. When I returned to the game, I start a new character, solely concentrate on Fighting, quaff my potion of berserk rage, and try to kill Ijyb, which fails miserably, as Ijyb zaps a wand of acid that does a lot of damage and kills my character.
