So I found a bunch of neat rings:

But which ones should I wear? I'm thinking Willpower and Int because getting hexed sucks and more spellpower is especially good for hexing, or would the extra defense from more dex be (much) better? Any general ring advice also appreciated, as I'm often not sure which stats are best to boost in similar situations.
(And yeah, I should enchant some aux armor, always putting that off for too long)

I'd also go for willpower and Int.
Technically Dex will be better than Int or willpower for most of your encounters, but I wouldn't want to swap rings all the time, and Dex is never extremely important. There are situations where extra willpower (up to ++++) is really important, and for those targets which are hard to hex Int is most important.
Maybe switch to a Dex ring if you want a boost for planned high-value sleep-stab attempts. It'll provide a boost to stealth and damage.

I almost always rate first Will+ above everything else (except on Sp and Fo maybe).
Dex also provides boost to % chance to make a weak stab, which En in general make lots of, and which turns into instakill-stab with your beautiful Spriggan's Knife. Seeing as Vp have an easy time getting spellpower with Hexes, I'd go with dex ring personally.

Stats do the following:
str - increases attack damage (melee and ranged), make it easier to dodge and cast in heavier armour
dex - increases accuracy (melee, ranged and maybe spells??), gives some stealth (really good for early game even on non-stabbers), gives EV (with Dodging investment), makes stabs better in every way
int - increases spellpower and success chance for spells

For stabbers in my experience: str is mostly irrelevant beyond 7 or so (for wearing lower tier dragon scales or ring mail); dex really boosts your damage (which comes mostly from stabs); int is good if you plan on casting 7-9 lvl spells in the endgame. Generally I find that getting first pip of relevant resistances is more important than +6 to any one stat (or +4 to slaying for that matter), regardless of character type.

edit: You don't need a long blade in this game, what you need is a summon spell (and a source of invis), so you can distract unhexable foes and oneshot 'em with The Knife. Works on OOFs etc. Also memorise Dazzling Flash, it's an amazingly powerful spell even without The Knife, works good for disabling for example hydras before they get in melee range.

I'd only just picked up the knife, before that I figured that against unhexable enemies a sword would be better. But WOW, the knife is a real gamechanger.
(And likely to get me killed, but hey, simply walking up to a pack of unaware death yaks and oneshot stabbing them feels amazing.)

I'd only just picked up the knife, before that I figured that against unhexable enemies a sword would be better. But WOW, the knife is a real gamechanger.
(And likely to get me killed, but hey, simply walking up to a pack of unaware death yaks and oneshot stabbing them feels amazing.)
