Worst. Orb. Run. Ever!
This was my worst orb run ever. More than once, I thought I was going to bite the bullet. It was brutal. Pan lords left and right and very nasty ones at that. It started in Zot with *both* lungs protected by zot traps. One had a zot trap followed by a permanent teleport one.
I cleared the lungs, took the orb and used a teleport trap to escape. First time it took me to the other lung and then to the entrance of the lungs and I escaped. The entrance to zot was in the worst place possible, a sort of spiral with the entrance to zot in the middle. A very nasty pan lord appeared, I buffed up but it wasn't working so i read teleport. A sack of spiders helped me not die and I teleported TO THE SAME PLACE! I thought I was dead but the pan lord was distracted by the spiders and a second scroll teleported me close to the stairs.
On another level, a second panlord appeared who was faster than me (I was hasted). Thr ancestor was killed again and I had to kill him. Again using haste, migh, agi. It almost killed me. More potions used, magic, heal wounds etc.
New level, ice fiend, fog, haste, run, shout in frustration.
New level, another pan lord, this time it only summoned tormentors. More consumables, I thought I was going to die. I killed it.
More pan lords, haste, flee, will this never end?
In the end I was very lucky, I must have made lots of mistakes.
I can't believe I won.
In retrospect, Hep sucks in orb runs. I don't think I'll ever do another Hep run.
Sure, the beginning game is easy, but its hard to get piety, the ancestor dies easily unless you keep using the power to revive it but it drains piety fast.
And, as all summons, it is stupid and rarely does what you want it to do.
