DCSS-CA has some fun things:
* Getting to XL/skill 27 and just keeping on going
* Randomised branch order via runelocks
* Rune curses. Get serpentine rune first but with a curse that permanently slows your movement, or go for the harder runes with less bad effects?
* Orb run finishes on zot:1

It also has some very unbalanced things:
* Drain can't be resisted with rN+ and certain areas (eg tomb) will repeatedly drain you to zero skill. I gave up trying to get the golden rune after this happened to me twice while attempting to clear tomb:3 (which is tomb:2 in vanilla).
* Stamina's poor balance makes the game nearly unplayable for many combos. Trolls get stamina on kill making them one of the only playable meleedude builds.
* Rune branches are all 4 floors, non-rune branches are 7. This makes the game a serious slog, and noticeably slows down auto-travel
