In Prog: GnMo^Chei w/good RNG

So, earlier today I ran one with this build up to lvl 22, at which point I ran into liches that summoned invisible demons apparently. It had lousy gear, generally.

This char, however, has had ridiculously good RNG. Intend to do 15 runes...we'll see how that goes. Might settle for fewer.

Picked up a couple extra weapons (I found 3 of these in one pile, 2 in another) just to have them for the dump (dropped a pair of rings that I'll pick back up once I play tomorrow, as you can see in the message history).

I would drop the buckler, +8 storm bow is awesome even long before min delay, especially with Chei who needs a ranged attack.
Also my highest priority would be to find a source of rF+ to make +9 ice dragon scales of Cotoeff {rElec rF- rC++ Str+3} wearable.

Edit. There is a ring of fire on D:14.
Edit2. And ring of MR+ on the same tile.
Edit3. And multiple boots/gloves are available too.

1) I plan on maybe picking up a shield if I get a good one. With my +5 amulet of reflection I get good reflection of ranged attacks, so it is helpful for now. With the shields manual I also did some math and I THINK by lvl 27 I'll have enough shields skill to be able to use a large shield (found a large shield of protection that's interesting). That's for later, though.

2) Yeah, I have the ring of fire I carry usually. Paired with the Morningstar I'll have full rC and at least neutral rF. Those rings on the floor are what I typically carry -- the glaive and axe I skipped.

3) The scales are definitely going on.

4) Yeah, that bow is legit. Definitely something I'll be putting to use.

UPDATE:

Died in slime pits. Stepping from time twice and blinks 4 times failed to get me out of range of an acid blob after I ran out of heal/cure potions.

You might be slightly overestimating heal wounds/curing potions. If you're at low health with an acid blob in range, quaffing curing is almost certainly not worth the time it takes to quaff. Heal wounds might be, but it's definitely questionable. Blinking/step from time/teleporting should be your first choice, before you exhaust heal wounds potions. They can be mixed, ie, read teleport, and then quaff heal wounds to pass the time before it kicks in.

I do agree -- cure is generally not enough. That said, in this case I just needed to get up enough HP to make it to the stairs...and all of the normal means of getting enemies out of my LOS were failing.

As a side note, I wonder if some of the potions we have could be combined?

For example, cure and cancellation could feasibly be combined. I don't know why degeneration is still in the game...it's just annoying, but rarely (if ever) an actual threat.

This time, also, I can't even blame this on lack of healing, though...this was a hubris YASD issue. The first time I cleared Slime I burned through without even having to quaff anything except one heal potion. I TABBED Slime 5, including Tabbing TRJ to death (and his horde). So that kind misled me, and this time I had the chance to have bailed, but I made one last attempt that was stupid. I spent the rest of today doing no runs and licking my wounds over my own stupid death.

I mean, we all get irritated when a good character dies, but sometimes you can be satisfied that you did the best you could. This time there is no excuse :roll:
