YAVP: DgWn (11 runes)
It was time to go for 11 runes and the "classical" combo DgWn managed it. Notable things in this game were decent AC, Controlled Blink and Malign Gateway. I really really love Malign Gateway.
I set off with: a book of Callings, Ilekko's Volume of Confrontation (Flame Tongue, Static Discharge), 10 poisoned needles, a +0 blowgun, a +0 robe, a +0 dagger, a bread ration.
Should have died though:
I hadn't yet decided on a weapon class when I found the Elemental Staff in a shop on D:12. So I thought, what the heck, let's make it my main melee weapon.
23 Pan levels for the 5 runes. Not too bad imo. Getting the Abyssal rune took 6 725 turns which was a bit of a slog. It took a long time to get to A:3 from A:2 and then I had to back away from one rune vault on A:3 to lure some stuff and then the scenery changed and the rune vault was gone...
For some reason, Cerebov didn't Fire Storm me at all. Was it because of the Tzitzimitl it summoned next to me? I managed to paralyze Mnoleg, Gloorx Vloq and Asmodeus with needles. Asmodeus woke up though before I killed it. Should have carried a dagger for stabbing.
Note to self: in extended, carry a wand of enslavement for hellions and tormentors.
I overtrained Spellcasting because I started to go for Disjunction but then decided that it was too late for it.
Looking at the morgue, I noticed that I forgot to check the transporter vault on U:4 later when I was certainly strong enough.
Only one river rat killed. Crazy.
My 59th victory. Wanderer keeps the top spot in my backgrounds ranking list with 4/14=29% wins. Demigod is placed 15th in my species list with 3/30=10% wins.
