So; having a pretty successful Draconian Warper run. I rolled Grey; and for a while I was in trouble due to having no offense besides a Flail.

Then I found a Randart Whip which is dealing acceptable damage and [More importantly] giving me INT. Although I know I should look for something better than a Whip; I'm pretty bad at knowing *what* is better; especially where Randarts are concerned.

Of all things to save my offense; it was a Book of Minor Magic. I've actually developed a pretty funny way of dispatching enemies. Conjure Flame -> Lesser Beckoning. I picture this as the magical equivalent of a Barbecue. However; I'm at the point where I can cast every spell I know reliably for almost no hunger cost. So there isn't any more point training magic skills. Unless there's something to train to bias Sif's books and hope I get something. [Translocations give me time to channel with Sif; that's the plan at least.] Now I hit Dodge 8 I'm gonna get my Whip to mindelay at least.

First and Foremost:
I don't see any uses of pale dragon breath. Pale dragons are frequently considered the best dragon because pale dragon breath is so strong. Use it all the time in every fight. Breath should be on cooldown all the time.

ID your confuse, enslavement and digging wands, probably in that order.

You have 2 hex wands and 4 in evocations, giving you most of Lair. Specifically, you can confuse mambas and spiny frogs if they are solo or enslave them if there are other enemies around. Hydras and death yaks are able to be walked away from, and you have blink and PoG if you need to create a gap. Blink frog packs are quick enough and strong enough to merit resources, but are vulnerable to some firepower from hex/damage wands and breath and such, with enslavement being particularly notable.

Turkima's dance is very strong in orc, but I would recommend against going hexes until late lair. If you find a good weapon or spell or even a shield to build into, you can commit to that instead, and never go hexes.

Defenses:
Enchant your cloak up to +2. Fighting is your primary defensive skill, and should always higher than dodging as a 13 dex draconian.

Keep your eyes open for a new weapon. That whip is trash. Pale dragon breath should stabilize a lot of your need for damage for the next couple of branches, however.

Skilling: I would consider any combination of Fighting + M&F + (Evocations) to be a general constructive waiting pattern. A pip of evocations saves you a couple wand charges, would be important if both your confuse and enslavement wands are low charge. Spellcasting can be constructive if you finish M&F with nowhere to go, but at that point you may be panic hexs for turkima's for orc. You are very open to building into any magic progression at the moment, but I would note both summon mana viper and summon forest as great finds.

I'm a Grey Drac; not a Pale Drac. Grey Dracs are Breathless; get +2 Earth; -2 Air and +AC.

I've now managed to clear Lair; mostly by doing what I was doing until this point; throwing mobs into a Conjure Flame. Lair:6 Vault was a corridor-heavy one with Yaks and Death Yaks; which just roasted. Death Yaks were basically unable to touch me with Ozo's up as they roasted in a Flame Cloud.

Sif Muna has given me a book with some high-level Earth Magic in it; as well as some Ice Magic. I raised Spellcasting as a base to get some spell levels; got Ozo Armor online; and now I'm going to work on Earth Magic to get Iron Shot. Also upped Invocations to get Sif's Channeling working.

I'm not sure what sort of weapon would be better than my current Whip. I guess a D-Whip with a decent Brand/Enchantment?

Orc is next. I know Meph helps quite a lot there; but it won't carry me alone, and with Orc being pretty open; my usual Cloud-tactics may not be as successful; although grabbing a caster and dropping them in some fire shouldn't be a bad idea at any point.

So that whip simply can't cut through mobs with AC. Without going to wizmode: any reasonably branded +2 flail sounds fairly equitable, within the realm of whip stats mattering. All branded demonwhips, morning or eveningstars, and dire flails represent an improvement. Demon/Eudemon whips or eveningstars all represent endgame 1hand weapons.

The +3 ring of slaying helps you get some extra value out of the whip.

Otherwise, a good magic staff is possibly where this character ends up. A Staff of Earth is a dynamite find. M&F crosstrains into staves, however getting staves up to min-delay is a remote priority with vaults/depths XP. I'd likely not make the switch with a good demon weapon available, and you may get to a point where you can't justify further investment into melee in any case.

I'd start training earth with the intention to go Iron Shot, setting up to commit to Shatter later.
