I have lost count of how many wizards I have splatted trying to turn them into what I want them to be: an unstoppable melee force. It's what I do. As a formicid, I had not so much trouble doing this due to Fo's inherently high strength, the smaller investment into shields required of them, and of course their natural abilities to dig killpits and use two handed weapons in one hand. Ba has none of these advantages, and are naturally slow to boot. But their aptitudes are amazing, and I've had an easy time with other classes, so I was not expecting such difficulty in adapting them to my favored strategy. It has been downright discouraging at times. Enter Chei, who has the power to grant this poor wizard the strength he needs to wade around in full plate and do actual damage in melee at the cost of being sloooowww. Barachi are slow anyway! Being even slower is not exactly great, but I've had more consistent success with Chei than with my old standby Oka.
The situation that inspired this CiP is in the shops. I have some great choices to make here, and I need to decide what gets bought first and what should be put aside until later. This is especially true because this character is not yet strong enough to wander around Orc for gold without potentially running into serious trouble; there could be a stone giant or high priest or crossbow-spamming warlord or what have you around every corner. I like to ask you guys what you would do in these situations.

The artefact rings and amulet are amazing, the potion is a rare treat, and the poison resistance is boring but practical in Lair and at least one rune branch. Snakebite is interesting but probably not important; the same goes for the manual, but I figured they were worth mentioning. What should get first priority here?
