First time I die by something I hadn't even in the LOS!

I had entered for the 2nd time into W:3, and there was a lot of shit already waiting for me in LOS - multiple greaters mummies, lich and lesser undead. I started charming most of death scarabs and lesser undead; at some point I got also slowed and low of hitpoint so I decided to teleport away - at least left lung was almost clear from the previous trip so I had decent chances to get in a safe area - and I wasn't play to win or "optimally" anyway.

I actually ended in the unexplored right lung, but there was nobody except a phantasmal warrior, and with my defences thought it was safe enough to take a chei-step towards the exit, to burn a ?blink only the next turn if necessary.

My calculation were right, except one thing I didn't know: enslaved foes still attack or are attacked outside LOS, and give 2 turns to multiple mummies to kill and be killed at very low hp isn't good, because, guys, death curses suck.

Reminds me of something I read in Mr K's ancient DeFE diary, where he got killed in a Ziggurat by the damage mirror of an Unborn he fried with a fire storm off-screen. He never saw this feller. Good these things don't exist anymore, but there are still other monsters mirroring the damage you deal them...

This makes me wonder if allies (summons, undead, etc.) should just 'unravel' or 'fall apart' out of LOS, just like clouds. Thematically it would be easily justified. It would also weaken allies, although it would still be the strongest thing going I suspect.

It is still possible that an ally just within LOS kills or damages a monster just without LOS. A better solution could be that monsters out of LOS cannot have any bad effect on the player.
Edit: Well, except silent spectres, and a few others I can't think of right now...

Summons and necro products already don't attack out of LOS. It's only enslaved real mosters that attack (this is a reason why the introduction of death scarabs made control undead a super-spell of the Tomb).

Sure, but even just moving, or being, outside of LOS can be useful. You can use it to prevent enemies from getting into LOS for example.

About enslavement, again, the effect should just break outside of LOS, or at least substantially reduce the duration.
