My trips to Abyss and OOF-land, over time, expended every potion of mutation I had found in the game, leaving me vulnerable to cacodemons and hell-effect-induced mutagenic glow. (I just realized as I'm posting this that !cancellation could have stopped the latter! ARG!) So now my supremely amazing (63+ AC with the robustness ring!) is a mere 48. :(

These are the rings I have: {AC+8], {MR+, Slay+5}, {rF- rC++ Dex+8 Slay+6, !*}, {+Fly rF+ rN+ Str+3 Int+5}. I'm currently using the "worst" one, the last, because I have brain death without it. Somewhere an Octopode cries.

Also, the hell effects in the first three hell branches were very draining of consumables, and I had a couple of near death experiences. (Why do I open the runed door, when I know there is no loot in Hell?) Trog's Hand simply can't keep up with torments and infinitely spawning monsters, even with rN+++ and absurd defenses.

As such, I am considering abandoning Trog for a more extended-suitable god: Either Kiku to make Tomb less scary (I haven't seen the new Tomb, and I am very afraid!), or Zin for the mutation cleanup. If I went Zin, I would probably switch to TSO, even though I don't need the rN or the weapon blessing (in addition to my +9 double sword holy wrath, there's a +8 eudemon blade and +9 vampiric demon blade! BTW, is the eudemon blade better with the massive slaying bonuses I have?), mostly because I have already booked wins with Zin, Dith, Goz, Hep, Lug, Oka, and Ely, and because I can afford the XP for Invocations.

Last question, can a melee-only character do zigs? How deep? And, how can I escape if things go south?

So, I did the Zin switch, wiped my mutations, and still got body deterioration when a lucky hell effect snuck through Zin's defenses and gave me glow, which I cancelled, but not fast enough, since it mutated me through Zin despite of that. Super annoying. I did the rest of Hell with Zin, then moved to TSO for the heals to clear Pan, at which point, I picked up a bunch of extra mutations including blurry and other nonsense! I had to dive into a zig to find a potion of mutation, which has set me up nicely. I could go a couple levels deeper in the zig probably, but I have no reason to risk it (except for 5X tournament points), since there's no way I'm going to 27 without level 9 spells, and there's no way I'm getting level 9 spells in golden dragon armor with 9 INT.

How do I beat Tomb? I cleared what I could reach in T:1, but the one-way stairs scare the hell out of me. I haven't cleared Tomb since 0.12, and they've made everything way harder.

Finally did a 15 rune. Technically, I did one before, but it was in 0.12 with castable Haste, and super-wands, and rMut, and life generally being easier, so I'm not counting it.
