Im not sure why are you questioning things, i know that death was totally avoidable(by learning statue form, for example, which i didnt, because i thought green draconian was immune to spore's confusion LOLZ! turns out it was grey).
Ice no longer reduces the power of fire spells, but makes it less annoying to use ring of flames, NEVERMIND that it also gives +10 int.

You mean, why am i diving zot at xl25 instead of grinding for other skills points? well, i dont play mages seriously.

I think he was asking why you have so low defense. I usually have about AC 25/EV 30 as Dr at this point. Try putting some bonus stats into Dex next time.
