CIP-DsBe of Trog ... Ogre Party?

Just playing a DsBe and whacking myself through the early game ...

After entering an almost empty Orc:1 I descended and strode into a rather large congress of ogers and trolls ...

I am on good piety with trogg with a charged iceblast and conf wand on 8 evo. Weapon and defskills around 12.

Mutations are Hooves 3, Miasma 2 and cold resist.

Should i try to crash the party with mass summons or rather stairdance a bit before inail out into d:12?

What do you think?

I'd probably just stairdance, and perhaps take some shots with the Iceblast wand, while they are all clumped together. As a melee character Ogres or Trolls shouldn't be too much of a danger beyond the early game, perhaps quaff might and/or agility to be extra safe. Just use Trog's hand to protect you from the ogre mages; you don't want to get confused.

You really should not have let yourself get surrounded. If you would calculate the maximum amount of damage those creatures can inflict in one round you would realize that you can easily be killed in one turn. And if you go upstairs you give free hits to any monsters next to you. Stairdancing was a really bad idea. Even a single troll could theoretically inflict 50 points of damage in one round...

What I would have done is gone immediately back up and check the third staircase down. You might have been able to pick the monsters one by one from another part of the level.
