YAVP - VpAs of Dithmenos
My first real "stabber" win:
I know a lot of people find playing vampires annoying, but I quite liked it. Basically tried to stay bloodless for as much of the game as possible, only drinking to regenerate between fights. Loved the innate resistances of Vampires, as well as the stealth bonus. Dithmenos seemed an appropriate choice of god; I never really used his abilities that much, but the passive boosts were great.
Not many problems in this game; found a good artifact leather armour at the start as well as both a +4 dagger and a +5 Scimitar which carried me through a lot of the game (used the dagger right up until the end). Transitioned into more of a melee style toward the midgame, since I know that stabbing isn't as reliable in the later parts of the dungeon, but my maxed stealth was still very useful just to get away from enemies and such, and it also entirely trivialized the Abyss.
Got into some trouble in Zot 5 when about 4 Orbs of fire swarmed me at once. Had to teleport away, ending up right next to the orb chamber, where my stealth allowed me to heal up, grab the orb and teleport out again. Was incredibly lucky with ending up close to the stairs, and it was a very character-appropriate way of doing Zot 5
Met a few panlords on the way out, but managed to escape through use of summons and teleportation. Also didn't find a single potion of cure mutation in this game, but I was lucky to avoid being mutated until the very end.

I know a lot of people find playing vampires annoying, but I quite liked it. Basically tried to stay bloodless for as much of the game as possible, only drinking to regenerate between fights. Loved the innate resistances of Vampires, as well as the stealth bonus. Dithmenos seemed an appropriate choice of god; I never really used his abilities that much, but the passive boosts were great.
Not many problems in this game; found a good artifact leather armour at the start as well as both a +4 dagger and a +5 Scimitar which carried me through a lot of the game (used the dagger right up until the end). Transitioned into more of a melee style toward the midgame, since I know that stabbing isn't as reliable in the later parts of the dungeon, but my maxed stealth was still very useful just to get away from enemies and such, and it also entirely trivialized the Abyss.
Got into some trouble in Zot 5 when about 4 Orbs of fire swarmed me at once. Had to teleport away, ending up right next to the orb chamber, where my stealth allowed me to heal up, grab the orb and teleport out again. Was incredibly lucky with ending up close to the stairs, and it was a very character-appropriate way of doing Zot 5
Met a few panlords on the way out, but managed to escape through use of summons and teleportation. Also didn't find a single potion of cure mutation in this game, but I was lucky to avoid being mutated until the very end.
