You were on level 4 of the Spider Nest.


This char had a rough time: no mr, no rpois, no relec, no whatever (F+).
Went through lair (mushrooms), dungeon (mushrooms).
Orc 2 was blocked by Saint Roka with a disto weapon.
Shoals 3 was blocked by Roxanne, Bai Suzhen, Jogrun and another disto weapon.
Spider 4 was blocked by Mara.
Went into elf without resists (F+) and was finally rewarded (when killing St. Roka didn't lead to good shops):
- amulet of regen
- ring of rpois
- ring of mr
- my first buckler

Died in spider 4 where I was unable to kill Mara.
My wife came to me, started talking about something and I think this is the point where everything went wrong.
I lost my concentration because her talking lasted longer than expected.
I pressed the wrong button when I wanted to CBlink. Got teleport instead.
Then another one and suddenly I was berserked by a moth.

Besides blaming my wife for the death of this char I also have to admit that I never even thought about using fruits.
Fruits were rare. Only 18 in all of this game so far (including shops).
I wanted to save them for later.
Mara is such a 'later' = big fights.
Was my first game with Fedhas and I still haven't used a fruit !

EDIT
I also forgot to even use my nets!

Skilling: went with a robe of mr for a long time (other options would have been xyz of F+)
So I wanted to get the cheap minor spells.
(The plate armour of mr was new)

Conclusion: don't play while distracted.
Give your wife your full attention.
And after that full attention to the game

I believe +11 long sword of the Hero {slice, *Drain rF+ rC+} would deal much higher damage to Mara than +0 holy long sword. Holy brand is useless when you miss or deal 0 damage

I chose the holy weapon because I didn't knew when Mara would create my ghost.
I didn't want to face this weapon.
Holy brand is harmless to me.
I was in a kill hole where I needed a few turns to get out when my ghost came.

I used might+haste.
Problem was: each time Maras HP came down another copy took her place and finally my ghost.

It is possible that I could have killed her with a better weapon but it is unlikely that I would have survived my ghost if it didn't work out.

Standing outside of my killhole (on stairs) with plants/fruits might have been better but I've never played Fedhas before.

If own ghost is too dangerous, then it is better to escape indeed. I would still use the +11 long sword, it might kill Mara very fast while also providing you an extra rF+.
I like to create zigzag kill hole vs Mara so it cannot blink too far.

Fight Mara on stairs. Change level when she copies herself or you to get back to just 1-on-1 vs real Mara.

I can't say much about ur game, but i'm getting definitely pr0 at wifey lovely attentions.

It happens to me almost EVERY game (since mines are long), and the death occurrency there is pretty high, i would say 75% since when she starts to 10 mins later.
Why do i make count of the next mins? Well, it's a feminine almost irresistible hex effect. It starts as an unimportant opinion request wich any other random person should be able to resist with almost no effort. For example: "do u think *random item* should stay there?". No baby, it's ok. I love you and take it easy. Now it may lead to different tactics. Yes tactics, because it's a war, even if u aren't aware of.

a) Deeper discussion gets involved
Do u know it happened to me that blablabla so i'm not sure if that is that nor there is where and blabla. Even more blablaing, it may last 2-3 mins just for the start. So, what do u THINK?

Now u are 25 hp coz of nervous attack with arrow keys (total was 85) and u cast fear. It gets resisted and the inventory page popups. Duh didn't i press "i", did i?... (3 blinks scrolls, various heal wounds etc)

Doh i really think it should be elsewere (she changes place for the item) , but no this ain't the right place, back to the original one. The dance may last for some time, gettin u nervous since it obviously is an unasked request for support.
U die since u know u got a timer before it turns to a real life tornado and got to join the suddenly new family trouble as it was mandatory. You could just save and stop the game but no this wouldn't set u free for real so u inconsciously want to die.
If the boss at work knew such a tactic for the hurry ups u know u will be dead.

Nebukadnezar, leave ur hopes. U stated u should move ur attention and fragmenting mind time to separate blocks. It makes u efficient at work where multiple issues ask deeper thinking, but when comes to women it will fail. I tried ur way but the trick is simple: They Do Cheat. Whatever are they sayin ur brain-cpu-time spent there will be wasted, there isn't a real issue to solve in a time-efficient way. The message is just "take care of me". Whenever they cut hairs, choose the next mix of clothes to wear or tell u about any irrilevant event it will be the same.
Will u be good enough to satisfy this? Impossible. Whenever ur private silent gaming session will be longer than 40 min (time may vary, usually in worst) a popping lovely noisy banner will appear, no matter what. And not any weapon or shield u can wield will beat it, love is irresistible
