novice GrFE advice

Hello,
I'm looking for some advice related to my first "good" start as a GrFE.
Regarding Items, i've read that I should look for mace/staves, but I had the chance to find a wonderfull +5 dagger of draining.
Should I use it ? Should I use it and train dagger ? Should I use a random Mace/Stave and train to be ready if/when I find a good one ?
I found a good +4 holy wrath falchion should I keep it and use it when I'm facing an unholy monster or should I not bother because if it's a dangerous monster, I'll be blasting him with spells anyway

Regarding spells, I found several books, with as interresting spells :
-Mephitic Cloud
-Blink
-Repel Missile
-Bolt of Fire
-Dragon Form

I'm thinking of take Blind/Repel Missile/Mephitic cloud, should I ? If yes, should I train their related abilities ? I have a staff of wizardry that I'm using atm (when I don't want to take the risk killing an ennemy with my dagger) so the fail rate are around 4-7%, is it worth it to take 2-3 lvl in Air/Translocation in order to go down to 1-3% ?
Should I plan on taking Dragon form for later ? In that case should I take it realatively early to start training Transmutation or should I just farm Transmutation once I'm ready to really invest in dragon form ?



Regarding the shops :
an amazing shop is selling me a amulet of gourmand and an artefact ring Wiz rC+ rN+ for 390 and 626 gold, is there a way to "farm" gold ? I read that the mines gives quite a lot of gold, is it a good idea to start doing lvl 1-2 Mine to buy my items before doing Lair ?
I couldn't find a way to sells items, is it possible at all (restricted to a certain type of item maybe) ?

Using the dagger of draining to melee weak stuff is fine, but I wouldn't train for it. It's not worth investing in shortblades at this point in the game as you aren't stabbing and shortblade damage is very low.

Don't train maces or staves unless you have one you're going to use.

I wouldn't bother keeping the falchion around, it's a weak base type and anything vulnerable to it that's dangerous enough to be a threat is something you don't want to fight with 0 skill melee.

Definitely pick up blink and repel missiles. You might want to invest a little for rmsl since it goes away after few attacks at low spellpower, but I would wait until later on when ranged attacks are more common. Blink is fine at 4-7% fail as long as you don't wait until the last possible opportunity to use it and have a backup plan for if you miscast.

Meph cloud is also good to pick up and you don't need to worry about the failure rate either (you are probably fine just from conjurations training). It pairs nicely with conjure flame. You should also pick up bolt of fire as soon as you can reasonably cast it.

Don't go for dragon form. It's worthless for your character.

There's no way to sell items. You can "farm" gold lategame if you like spending a lot of time in the abyss or pandemonium but it's never actually worth doing. I would not do orc mines before lair, gourmand is not very good since you can just eat chunks when you get hungry and use one of your huge piles of permafood if there are no chunks. The ring is not worth doing a more dangerous branch for. The resistances it offers are not that important and you already have a wizardry source (plus vehumet eventually gives a pseudo-wizardry for conjurations). You can buy it as a swap ring later if you don't find another source of cold resistance.

I would recommend that you read-id those stacks of scrolls on a cleared floor so that you don't have to guess if you get in a bad spot and need to read teleportation. I would also recommend training fewer skills at once. Best practice is just train one at a time, whichever will be of the most immediate help. I'm kind of lazy and train two at a time a lot, but definitely don't train five at once. You can for sure turn off spellcasting since you have 13 available spell levels.
