Always the same question, I never know when to swap or not main weapon... Went Staves and got a lajatang, Rupert drops a Vamp triple sword... That means "Get it !", no ?

I wouldn't switch. But maybe I am wrong, I wouldn't use lajatang in the first place since it does not crosstrain with axes and spells are not that good with Qazlal so you have only a few skills to train and thus low skill requirement of staves is not that useful.

But then, under Qaz you need lots of invo and defenses, on top of being a formicid that needs more defense than most. Staves are a good option.

That said, I don't know if I'd switch. I'd train defenses while thinking about it.

Pure melee Fo in heavy armour does not need much XP since it has +1 Fighting, +1 Armour, +0 weapon skill and -1 Dodging. I don't train Invo very high with Qazlal because it scales linearly. Axes are very good for Fo, axes are very good with Qazlal, for Fo of Qazlal they become almost a must IMHO.

I should always follow Sandman's advice...

On my way to being able to use this nice triple sword, I found a vamp exec axe... So here we are... This character is strong enough to win... but !

I just found my favourite item in the game : the boots of the Assassin. There was also a vault in Depths with the Cloak of Thief and Robe of Night. Time to be crazy, no ?

What do you think about a Qaz -> Ash switch, transfer all Staves/LBlades skills in Stealth and stab my way through extended in GDA ? A Makhleb switch to stab through Zigs ?

A formicid with 27 armour, 27 stealth, your stats, GDA, boots of the Assassin and cloak of the Thief is only very stealthy so that's not gonna work. With robe of the Night you'd be uncannily stealthy and could stab some dudes but you're just a formicid with no haste or teleportation. So in case something goes wrong (it always does when you play as a stabber), you won't have a good escape plan and will be just a fighter... in a robe.
I wouldn't get that crazy, winning a formicid of Qazlal is already cool.

Yes, go crazy! Probably not optimal, but definitely fun. Boots of the Assassin are a really fun item in themselves, but on stealthy characters they are great.

Instead of Ash I might switch to Dith and go with a lighter armour. Maybe Shadow Dragon Armour? Robe of the Night is a pretty good item and you would get a lot of stabs with Dith, but then you don't get much use out of all that strength you have. GDA isn't gonna work I'm afraid.

I really like Makhleb with Fo. Maybe TSO can be even better as you will get a holy executioner's axe. I wouldn't switch to Ash unless there is a nice shadow dragon armour somewhere or you can enchant it (which is very unlikely provided that GDA is not at max enchantment).

Anything that allows stabs I guess. Perhaps Ru or Zin could work too. They also give good panic buttons. I just feel that Robe of the Night with Dith and Assassin boots sounds like great fun. And shadow form is a good panic button. Having access to Passage of Golubria makes playing Fo a bit safer.

Sorry, i kinda forgot shadow dragon armour was a thing. You could do a part of the Crypt with TSO for the holy brand and extended with Zin afterwards. Derp.
