YAVP: DEFE of Hepliaklqana - Orbs of Fire? No problem.

This has been a pretty easy game from start to finish, Hepliaklqana is a top tier god for any character IMO, especially for a Fire Elementalist. Inner Flame + ancestor ghost is basically an auto-win for early to mid game, and late game the ancestor is a beefy melee powerhouse and acts as the perfect meat shield to keep everything off of me.

Only problem now is I have no clue what to do against Orbs of Fire. There are two in the Zot:5 vault, and I don't have a single spell to take them out. Firestorm doesn't exist in this game and neither do any non-elemental conjurations, no Orb of Destruction to save me here.

I could really use some advice as to what I'm supposed to do here. I just cleared Elf and Crypt in hopes of a good spell to use against them, but no luck. Only thing I can think of is scumming abyss to get the last little bit of XP I need for level 27 so my ancestor gets a speed brand axe instead of flaming, and then luring an orb to a chokepoint and just letting the ancestor fight it while buffing it with Idealise. Not sure if that would work or not though.

You yourself can melee them too. You have a huge weapon, skill, hp, rF+++, and 5 might potions.

I'd try to loot at least Slime Pits. With haste, brilliance and your spell enhancers TRJ should go down just fine as long as you keep the distance. Immolation would help killing TRJ's spawns and Passage of Golubria (which you might have avaiable) could be good for saving blink scrolls as you're staying away from the boss. Don't forget to bring an extra source of MR for shining eyes too.

Bad advice, but what I'd do if I wanted that last bit of EXP to hit Lv 27: invade Cocytus. You've got rC++, I'd take Cocytus over Abyss with plenty of caution. But as I warned: bad advice. Slime is a much better prospect.

Melee'ing the OoF with might+haste potions and rF+++ looks good. You have a +9 triple sword - the flame brand won't help but it's a +9 triple sword.

Meleeing OoF is a bad idea (you can run fsim to check it), especially provided the character has no potions of cure mutation. If Slime does not provide a good spell, using 6 scrolls of blinking and haste should make stealing the orb very easy, as far as I remember half of Zot 5 is cleared and also scrolls of blinking are almost useless during orb rub for character who has blink spell.

Actually I had three potions of cure mutation, just in my stash. Turns out I could actually melee it pretty effectively with help of my ancestor, although I'm not sure if my melee was doing anything or if it was just all the ancestor because as it turns out at XL 27 the ancestor can take on an orb of fire, two dracs and an orb guardian all at once by itself and win without any trouble. I always thought it was overtuned but after witnessing that I sincerely think this god is overpowered and in my own personal rankings I would put it well above the likes of Trog or any other god for that matter, this god is consistently very strong for literally any character in my experiences so far. I feel like Idealise needs a pretty big nerf to its piety cost, its basically free and makes your ancestor nearly unkillable, which is kind of crazy considering that for most tough fights in this game the ancestor knight doesn't even need it to be effective.

But yea, orbs of fire were no problem for this character despite my lack of effective spells and I guess I was just being overly paranoid. Orb run was particularly uneventful, just a few orb guardians appeared and nothing really scary happened.
