After 4-5 failed felids, I've managed to keep one alive past the lair (not to mention d:1-15 and orc:1-4).
Anyone have any felid-centric advice to give me for this character- I think it would be really awesome to get this fella a shiny new orb to replace that dusty old ball of string. (I mainly got him to keep quokkas away from my medicinal oklobs, it's tough to afford him new things on a vault guards salary...)
Also, I've never used dithmenos to any effect before, and so far I've only benefited from shadow step a couple times successfully;
Any advice for when / how often to use shadow form (or any of his abilities) would also be very helpful- ty!

I'm at vault:5 and it's tearing me apart, the normal guards take strategizing; The moment a warden shows up I'm dead for sure.
There's no ozocubu's armour for me to learn, and this isn't boding well- would it be stupid for me to try my luck in the abyss instead at this point?
With my stealth I'm thinking I might have an easier time there than swimming up stream in vault:5, lol. (especially with intrinsic rMut)

shadow minicry can be really strong. It doesn't work with unarmed and you can't use ranged weapons, but it works really well with conjurations. I would advise getting magic dart online. It is very quite and cheap to get online. You can use it to draw off monsters one at a time similar to throwing stones. It doesn't cost very much MP and it can also deal reasonable damage when shadow mimicry triggers. Shock can also be good because it can trigger shadow bolt for only one mana. If you can find the book of death and want a little more killing power with spells, bolt of draining+dispell undead works on almost everything and they both work well with shadow mimicry. Dragon form is a great way to deal with zot because it gives rF++ and +50% HP for tanking OOFs, Doesn't meld any gear for felids, and gives a lot of melee killing power. I personally like not training invo and just using dith for the passives, but shadow form can be a good panic button as it reduces the damage you take and also makes you invisable.

EDIT:The abyss will be way easier for you than V:5. Fast movement+tons of stealth help a lot with the abyss.

Since you're going melee you will want transmutations to up your hp/ac. Even ice form is better than nothing, assuming there isn't any fire around, but ideally you want either statue or dragon form. I personally prefer statue, but plenty of people prefer dragon form, so your choice. Have none spawned?

Even if those spells aren't available, you should still switch to training magic to at least get haste online, 22 dodging is fine for now, as is 21 UC. You could train a bit more fighting if you want, but really I'd just dump all your exp into charms (with a few levels of spellcasting as well) and get haste going. If you do have statue/dragon form then you could do those schools first, or after.

Ty for the advice, sadly I just lost the little fella in the depths... Wasn't familiar with juggernauts until now- ouch.
I'll definitely try investing in transmutations on my next felid run, I think I might have been a bit beefier if I had. :lol:
