God gift shafted?

Maybe this isn't the right spot for this
I am wondering if this is a bug, or working as intended:

Sif Muna grants you a gift!
A shaft opens up in the floor!
A torn book {god gift} falls through the shaft.
The komodo dragon completely misses you.
There are no items here.
You fall through a shaft!
The shaft crumbles and collapeses.

There was no book at the bottom of the shaft waiting for me, either. It happened dropping from the 7th floor of Lair to the 8th, so it couldn't have dropped through multiple levels. Confused and missing my book .

Do you have a morgue? what version is that? considering you were standing on top of a undetected shaft which im pretty sure is impossible, might be a bug.

I had just used a deck of escape.
The morgue doesn't show much at 27881& 27882.

Ok it was a shaft card then, my only guess is that the book fell into deep water(you dont land the same places of objects when you go down the shaft from which they fell) but im not sure if thats even possible, or got eaten by a jelly before you could find it, also not sure if its possible.
