HuSu (CiP trunk) needs guidance

Could anyone advice me in the direction to take this summoner? I just got to the temple, and need a god. I don't know whether to go Sif and spellcast more, or hybridise under a different god, nor do I know which god to take if I do fancy a more hybrid approach - as I understand it summoner xp is now related to how much direct damage you do, so I have been using my venomous dagger a fair bit. Tips please.

Consider also Vehumet, who encourages further specialisation into Summoning (he'll also eventually give you brilliant Conjurations, if you're worried about damage calculations later in the game).

Sif is great too (as a human, whatever Sif gives you you can use if you like it), but if you're still feeling your way a bit, simplifying is the way to go. Kikubaaqudgha is also a decent god for magic specialists... still encouraging magic, but allowing you to quickly branch out into Necromancy, which is an excellent support school.

Personally, if I was just trying to get Summoners (or conjurators) figured out, I'd go Vehumet. A straightforward God whose benefits directly enhance your play style, with no added sugar (and also no further input from you, Vehumet's powers are all passive).
I am sure I played flawflessly. This was an utmost unfair death. -- gorbeh

Thanks. I went Vehumet, and had achieved ** piety before I got shafted three floors, and botched my stair-running due to panic. Currently still trying to get a spellcaster to the Lair for the first time, (or to see my first rune with a beserker). Guess I will try summoner again though, was fun.
