So this is my first character to get 3 runes and I was thinking I'd head down into Zot 1, and check out Zot a little.
Also the Branch Ends I've done so far have all been cake. Managed to get myself a GDA in vault:8 and promptly enchanted it to +5 I could enchant it all the way up to +9 with the enchant armor scrolls I have so far. Frankly Gold Dragons are less of a pain in the butt than Shadow Dragons. I have the stuff to get to rN+++ but it involves wielding an artifact shortsword of elec to get to +++ and that makes the Shadow Dragons go down WAY slower than I'd like. Usually I'll lure the Shadow Dragon away from everything else and then summon a BiA while I whack on it and let the brother in arms take care of damage duty, it works well as long as Trog gives me something better than an Ogre or two headed Ogre.
I was thinking that if I do get the orb then I might as well try grabbing all the artifacts I've found in the course of the game and pile them near the exit I'm gonna use to up my final score, but it seems sort of cheap and pointless to do so. In all I think I've found a total of about 35 artifacts so far, with about one quarter to one third of them being artifact spellbooks, and have found a total of something like 18 spellbooks throughout the dungeon which I've made a tidy pile of inside Hive 1.
Anyways does this character look like its ready to tackle Zot or should I putz around in a few more places first? I could most probably get the Abyssal Rune as long as I spend enough time there, but I'm loath to try either Pan OR Hell, cuz from what I've heard those places eat Berzerker characters alive. I could even try going real careful through the Slime Pits, but it seems like that is something which would get me killed right quick as soon as I met the Royal Jelly or that other named Slime creature.
