Never move toward the center or try to attack it. If you're just inside the edge you may be able to move away safely. I think hasting helps, because I've seen fast enemies like shrikes get out. But if you're next to the center, blink / cblink / teleport out of there to avoid being shredded. Don't know if it persists after the caster dies.
