1st rune!

Finally got my first rune! After battling my way through Swamp with my TrMo ^ Ru, I conquered a pack of hydras and swamp creatures and clawed my way to the decaying rune of Zot! I couldn't have done this without you guys' help and advice. Thanks so much, and you're all awesome! (except for codyrex5, that guy's a jerk)

For me it's the easiest one, with spider/snake being moderate and shoals being brutal!

Congrats... I think it's harder to get first rune than it is to get a win after getting a rune. You have the skills necessary to win, it just becomes about patience and keeping concentration til the end.

Yeah, my other branch was spider. I entered it, and got an *awful* vault with 10 orb spiders on a deep water island. I got ripped to shreds, and that char died there.

If they're trapped on a deep water island, couldn't you just step back and they'd be unable to follow you? The key with "islands" like that is to never go near them. You want to use a range 8 (I guess this is range 7 now in squareLOS) attack, so that you only fight 1 tile of the island at a time. Being a troll, that'd be throwing your large rocks, which should go through orb spiders pretty quick. Anyone else could use poisoned needles.
