YAVP: MfBe of Trog

Posting this only because I post all my wins, for the record. This is my sixth: my first with a Merperson, my second with Trog, and my sixth that is heavily melee-focused and with little or no ranged attack. Despite many many attempts I have still to win with a spellcasting character (beyond a couple of utility spells). First character in which I focused on evasion rather than armour, though, so not as tank-y as my previous winners.

Nothing particularly noteworthy here: I found some decent jewellery but nothing remarkable. Boots of running always help, too.

Thanks for your comment, duvessa. I can't decide, though, whether you're commiserating ("damn RNG obviously didn't produce anything useful - bad luck!"), criticising ("you almost certainly got better armor but were just too dumb to use it"), or congratulating ("you won even with crappy armor - good job!"); or perhaps none of the above.

That is bad armor. Also a 4-point slaying malus is generally not going to be worth it for rF++ and rN+.

Congrats on the win!

Re: YAVP: MfBe of Trog

Thank you. I put on the ring to reduce my risk of getting killed by OoF in Zot 5, since I didn't have any other rF items. I didn't wear it prior to that point. I'm not a great player but I'm not so poor that I would wear 4 slaying for the whole game.

Well, I would wear the ring by default especially provided I have a ring with Slay+5 Stealth- and am using +8 bardiche. Usually I am not lazy to switch to another ring, I prefer it over losing 50% HP to agony or 30% HP to fire damage while autoexploring.

Either the first one or the second one, since there's not actually enough information for me to determine which one is true. I just noticed your body armour was exceptionally bad.
