Here goes my 4th 15-rune win. First species I ever played were Felid, Ogre and Octopode (I guess I didn't like the armour/weapon management ), so I wanted to try finally win with one of them.
This actually wasn't my first game of OgHu, I failed a few before that, most notably this one:
Lots of bad mutations, teleportisis killed me. I tried to to switch between amulets when I saw someone who can mutate, but they mutated me faster! Really Bad idea!
I began as Hunter for obvious reasons (giant rocks) and also obviously used mostly Maces (clubs, giant clubs! With SPIKES!).
I choose Qazlal as my god, my last character was small and sneaky Kobold, so why not go really big and loud this time. Also he could help me with defences, if I didnt find good items for resistances. Plus the invocations were useful at times.
Maces, Fighting, Invocations for good succes rate and Armour / Dodging after I found armour were no-brainer, but you might ask why I trained Spellcasting? And my answer to that is that I didn't just train Spellcasting, I maxed it first!! I really wanted that awesome title of Ogre Mage! Okay I just stopped training other things around 26 and my favorite spell was GIANT CLUB into the face! But got Spellcasting first, I'm Ogre Mage goddamit!
Later I add little bit of magic, classic Charms + Translocations. Controlled blink was especially useful.
Mutation problem, didn't expect it to be such big wall of text! I'll just put it into spoiler.
After that I didnt really have much problems, had to teleport once away from Lom Lobon and Asmodeus, but other then that I pretty much killed any other boss in straight man-fight.
And that says something, Giant club is great and so is Golden dragon armour! And of course Giant rocks + Portal Projectile if you really want to kill something behind other monsters.
Don't know what I'll play next, maybe Octopode or Felid? How would I play them for 15-rune win? Probably as conjurers right?
