Just not at all sure where to go now...
Got my 3 runes and hadn't planned any more as this character will initiate a streak if he wins. No rMut. Ran into an OoF on Zot:2 and through a series of bonehead decisions he is now sitting on Zot 1 at the entrance stair, avoiding a fight with him means tele and tank for a bit.
He mutated me pretty badly in our first meeting, the longbow {frost} does seem able to take him down, but not fast enough to save my DNA. I quaffed a cure mut and thankfully managed to strip off all the nasty he gave me yet keep my placid magic. If I lose that mut then I lose Haste/Phase Shift.
What can I do? I kind of want to go run a branch that I know contains no malmutate (baring summons) in the hope of rMut or ?acquire for jewellery. Unfortunately as best I can work out that leaves me Hells and Tomb, which I'm not super keen on. Something im overlooking? Make a blitz for slime and pray no eyes are about? Scrape the top off the Depths Zigg?
I could just keep diving for the orb, but if this OoF on 1 gets me again and there are more than 3 of them on 5 then im probably going to run out of cures and degenerate into a blubbering mess before I get the job done.
edit: i just stepped up from scale to chain which is why the spells are a bit borderline, i've restarted charms and transloc anyway in preperation for possible loss of placid magic.
