YAVP - First Attempt at a 15 Runer (MfCr)
I'm trying to get my frst 15 rune (and second overall) victory, any advice would be appreciated. This character has been pretty fun to play, especially after finding and vorpalizing that demon trident quite early in the game. I tried a bit of mutation roulette, but wussed out after getting controlled teleport, as I'd hate to lose it. Once I got past the very early game everything's been ridiculously easy with this character, but I did catch a bit of heat in the early Zot levels due to carelessness. For the shoals and snake pit I literally just alternated between holding down o and TAB. I also got the vault, abyss and slime runes, so Pan, Hell and Tomb are left.
Some questions I have about the late endgame:
- Where do I start, Hell or Pandemonium?
- What items should I bring with me? Should I get rid of one (or both) of the =slaying? I can get three pips of rF without using my ring slots. Do I need anything else besides elemental resistances and rMut? I assume a bit of extra permafood would be useful to sustain my zerking.
- Is sInv important in these branches? I only have a crappy -2 helmet for sInv that I've been carrying around.
- Should I switch to TSO now? I've already cleared most of the crypt when I was looking for some rings of rPoison and sInv. Okas wrath doesn't seem too bad, but I'm not looking forward to having titans thrown at me at the wrong time.
- How do I deal with the lack of safe places to recover in Pan? I've relied quite heavily on berzerking and retreating upstairs, which doesn't look like an option in Pan.
- As far as skills are concerned, should I still be training armour and shields at this point? I got most of my armour skill from reading a manual.
