YAVP: First 15 rune win.

Hello, everyone. It's been a long time since I've been here. Good to see you all again.

There's nothing particularly impressive here, but I wanted to make a post to mark my first successful 15 rune run; it's something I've been working at for a long time now, despite using very easy race/class combos. I'm no good at the game at all compared to most people that have been playing for as long as I have. My hope is that, having acquired the skills to get this far, I can start to attempt streaking and other, less monotonous challenges.

The list of creatures vanquished and timeline of notable events is excised by necessity. Including them exceeds the allowed character limit. It's probably not of much interest, anyway.

Having avoided Pandemonium for years under the impression that it was the most unforgiving area of the game, I was surprised to find that it really is not too difficult to survive with some preparation beforehand. Unlike the Hells or Abyss, it's entirely possible to rest after a difficult fight. The bosses there seem a bit more challenging than the ones in Hell, but otherwise I had a fairly easy time of it outside of Cerebov. Both he and Asmodeus brought me to perilously low health, possibly because of my relative lack of resistance to fire (I had one pip during my battles with them; not sure what happened to it afterwards. No wonder the orbs of fire in Zot were wrecking my face). It could have just been hellfire or melee damage, though, in which case more rF would not have made all that much difference. Should have watched the messages more carefully and made note of it, I suppose.

The new and improved Tomb has demolished me utterly before, but as a gargoyle of TSO the main source of damage from the mummy horde seemed to be smite spam. Liberal application of summons, cleansing flame, and healing from kills kept thing under control easily enough.

I'd like to express my immense gratitude and respect for everyone that has visited me during my games or who has given me advice, instruction, or otherwise took the time to help me get here. You are all awesome and I love you. <3

The question that remains is: what now? Xom, perhaps. Never won a Xom game. Perhaps I'll go back to .15 for a bit and get the HaDK win I've been wanting since I started playing.
