CIP: DsBe, 3 runes in - advice for extended

Hi all,

Playing a DemonSpawn Berserker, and have 3 runes done (Spider, Shoals and vaults). Also cleared out Lair, Orc, Elven and currently exploring Depths.

Any advice on next steps appreciated. I guess my main decision at the moment is do I stick with Trog or convert to another god? I've pretty much every spell book in the game so I could maybe aim to get Tornado (plus utilities like blink/apportation) online .... but my intelligence isn't high enough I fear to get end game spells available. God choice may also influence next major decision - where to go next?

We're right about that time when I'll start getting mutations and/or abilities reduced on a regular basis if I'm not wearing the right amulet at the right time - and on my previous 5+ runers I've always gone for magic and had Necromutation to avoid some of the nastier attacks/death curses and the like. I've no idea how you manage that (I guess amulets and rings are enough?) on a melee only character? So ... any advice welcome :)

I recently got all 15 runes on a melee only minotaur, I was an Makhleb follower, so the healing on kills helped, as well as being able to cast haste and regen and what not, but Trog's hand and Trog bros should also help. However my best asset was a great sword of holy wrath, meaning when I did close into melee range, stuff died really fast.

I'm not sure you've really got enough raw offense with that quickblade for melee only extended. I guess you have some slaying, and a lot of aux attacks, but your primary method of resisting torment is going to be killing guys quickly. I personally wouldn't expect extended to be too easy for this character, although I'm sure it's possible.

Of course, if you're willing to ditch trog and grind your way to basically a different build, you'll be able to make your character whatever you want. I wouldn't do it though.

Why did you choose short blades as your weapon type? This seems weird to me given that you aren't stabbing.

The elec quickblade is very good against dudes without rElec, but in extended most dangerous foes will have it, so I think the best would be to find some demon blade.

Edit: or some demon trident, as you have 10 polearms as well.
