Dr.Strangerod,or How I Learned to Stop Worrying&Love the Xom
YAVP!
I was a few characters short of: Dr. Strangerod or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Xom. This is my DsCK win, and I realized how good xom really is. It was my 90th DsCK that I tried, and I found an early rod of clouds on D2, then another on D3. Those carried me the whole game. Xom gives a lot of nice benefits if you can deal with the stupid stuff he sends at you. I remember reading another player about how Xom was better to take after you had gotten your character off the ground. Xom ended up giving a crazy set of mutations, with only a couple negative ones here and there. On occasion he'd take 2/5 of my health and give me 3-4 mutations right before I was going to fight a stone giant, but he aided me a great deal more than he hindered me in dangerous situations. He also took away my rElec mutation as I walked into the lungs of Zot:5, but I still made it out okay.
