YAVP -- VSWr ^ Zin
Accomplished another goal of winning with a good god. Azalea the Vine Stalker Warper of Zin, 15 runes and a personal high score!
I really can't believe this guy didn't die. He came to the brink of death more times than I care to remember. The main reason I chose a Vine Stalker is because I couldn't find a wand of heal wounds in my recorded VpEn game, so I thought, let's make that a non-issue. But they are a nutso species.
I chose a Warper honestly mostly because I wanted to play something more tanky with a long blade to start. But you can see I kept true to my roots, casting Controlled Blink even in crystal plate. Plus a variety of other cool support spells like Haste and DMsl. I even had some semblance of stealth going on. Storm Bow with Portal Projectile was useful exactly once -- Hellion island. But I was surely glad I had it then.
Found that crystal plate in an ice cave. And I traded in 12 scrolls of teleport after orc for a trove, which gave me those beautiful rings. Those helped a lot.
I had never had a very good game with Zin before, but he's pretty cool. Tearing through packs of orcs/nagas/whatever with high-level preach was incredibly fun ("Saint Roka's eyes and ears begin to bleed!"). Of course the real draw for me was protection from Hell effects. Hell was actually fun! Parts of it were downright leisurely. And as an avatar of Zin marching through Tomb, spamming Silence, I felt just like Mennas

I really can't believe this guy didn't die. He came to the brink of death more times than I care to remember. The main reason I chose a Vine Stalker is because I couldn't find a wand of heal wounds in my recorded VpEn game, so I thought, let's make that a non-issue. But they are a nutso species.
I chose a Warper honestly mostly because I wanted to play something more tanky with a long blade to start. But you can see I kept true to my roots, casting Controlled Blink even in crystal plate. Plus a variety of other cool support spells like Haste and DMsl. I even had some semblance of stealth going on. Storm Bow with Portal Projectile was useful exactly once -- Hellion island. But I was surely glad I had it then.
Found that crystal plate in an ice cave. And I traded in 12 scrolls of teleport after orc for a trove, which gave me those beautiful rings. Those helped a lot.
I had never had a very good game with Zin before, but he's pretty cool. Tearing through packs of orcs/nagas/whatever with high-level preach was incredibly fun ("Saint Roka's eyes and ears begin to bleed!"). Of course the real draw for me was protection from Hell effects. Hell was actually fun! Parts of it were downright leisurely. And as an avatar of Zin marching through Tomb, spamming Silence, I felt just like Mennas
