Just cleared out snake pits, snagging my first rune. What branch should I tackle next? This is the farthest I've ever come and I feel like I'm in a pretty decent position to keep on progressing. Are there other skills I should be training? Should I splash in any spell casting or something?

Also, debating which Axe I should be using; the +4,+9 battleaxe of Orysoy (weapon) {elec, rF++} or the +9,+4 battleaxe of Destruction {drain, -Tele +Rage Str+2 SInv} .

Anyways, any help/tips/advice is appreciated. Thank you :)

edit: Just found Maxwell's Patent Armour at a shop. Seems like it could be neat.
edit2: Just got the Shoals rune without too much trouble. Next stop, slime pits? Maybe I'll just keep this Lairs rune train a rollin'
edit3: Well, have 4 runes now; Vault, Shoals, Snakes, and Slime. I kind of just want to keep on trying for more runes because why the hell not. Have a new weapon to try to factor into the mix now, but don't really know how to compare weapons; It's a +4, +8 executioners axe of flame. Better or worse than the two I mentioned earlier in this post?

If I want to get more and more runes, should I switch to TSO now or stick with Okawaru?

If you're going to use any of those axes, push to at least 14 skill for a 1 aut swing. Get your Invocations to 7.5 for <10% Finesse. Turn off Bows, as now the XP investment is better used towards other things such as defenses.

Of the three you've found, I'd stick with the elec brand one. You're past the point where drain has much impact (not to mention the -Tele makes it a very unlikely candidate), and it'd take too much investment to get that exec axe to acceptable speeds.

Maxwell's is iffy as well as it prevents you from using your emergency blink and tele scrolls. Your speed, even with the barding, may be enough to consider it though. You already have MR +++ which is suitable for late game/extended, so getting it just for that is probably not the best idea. I'd probably try to find a plate, CPA, or one of the dragon armors with better resists in general at this point over AC.

Oka should be fine for extended since you're primarily ranged. You've got a longbow of velocity which is probably the best brand to have on a bow period.

I would suggest finding the big three wands though: healing, tele, and hasting if you haven't already. If you want spells, get the good low-level ones: Apportation, Blinking, Butterflies, Reflect Missiles, etc at first (this also means using Maxwell's is out of the question). If you have enough XP, run to Haste.

The executioner's axe is slightly better if 1) You don't ever get hit by fire attacks or have some other source of rF++ 2) you have 26 axes skill. Until you have 26 axe skill, keep using the 4/9 elec battleaxe. It's a very good weapon. It would be quite reasonable to stick with it all game long if you don't want to train axes to 26, but if you are going for 15 runes, you'll probably have the time to get axes to 26 eventually. Make sure you don't lose too much rF.

I don't know what your skills are looking like now, but I imagine you probably need a lot more armor/fighting/axes, and possibly some more dodging, depending on how heavy your armor is.
