For my second-ever win, I finally broke through with an Ogre .. after trying several Fire Elementalists, the suggestion to make him a CK worked wonders. Found a truckload of enchant weapon scrolls so my giant spiked club was a killer, especially after stumbling upon the nice ring of slaying in the Tomb. Looking back at the morgue file I noticed there were some early close calls (down to 1 HP from Pikel really early, another 1 HP test in the Lair thanks to a dragon) but I really didn't have much of a close call in Zot, other than running into a player ghost of a SpEN that I had forgotten I had even gotten to Zot:5. Both Orbs of Fire were dispatched pretty easily thanks to the rF and mutation resistance. Trip back up was pretty uneventful - the Hell Hounds went down in 1-2 shots that surrounded me midway back up.
I think I'm done for Ogres now, but I would like to start branching out into getting other runes. I've got a promising DsVM and a DDne who are around the Lair, but are there any other combos that scream all-rune wins? Or should I start slowly and just try to get, maybe, 5 or 6 runes next time?
