Ow. Just ow. What makes it dumb on my part is that he shot at me once and missed, and I was crazier than he was and tried to confuse him.

Heh, when I do come into contact with Ol' Yiuf I usually do try to confuse him. Tends work quite nicely. It would be hilarious if Yiuf had the ability to reflect confuse enchants on account of his own craziness. Better luck next time dude.

Usually confusion works for me, too. But when I saw that he was packing a big wand, I should've ran. The approach to his house makes it real easy to break line of sight quickly.

Even without wands, Yiuf can hit scarily hard- it's all down to the roll of the Chaos staff. I usually try to lure him out at a distance, plinking him with any projectiles I'm carrying while he closes the gap.

Mostly you know he's there before you see him though, so if I don't have mephitism or stealth-n-stabbiness, I just walk past the mushrooms, trees, hammers etc and find someone a bit less unpredictably hurty to fight.

Multiple painful experiences have taught me to put an exclusion on the entrance to Yiuf's hut and keep well enough away from it until I have something that can take him out from a distance.
