I was a moron and hoping it was literally anything besides distort because I for some reason forgot maces can have distort too.

This is why I don't win crawl.

This won't prevent you from winning, it'll just be mildly annoying until you can safely remove it.

Oh yeah, I know, I'm just referring to me generally making stupid errors.

I'm glad its a great mace at least. I ran into some centaurs in a big space though, that was not fun.

I can relate to making dumb mistakes. My most sour recent death was due to wield-IDing a really cursed flail as an early game mace user, and remove curse completely refused to drop, and I just died of apathy/sadness tabbing something I could have killed normally. Gotta make sure they don't happen next game, is all!

You haven't invested that much in staves yet, and staves and M&F crosstrain. You aren't using a crossbow or bow or something, and haven't found any good rods or anything, so not being able to switch weapon out isn't likely a huge deal for at least the mid-term. Get a bit of M&F and use that distortion great mace, man.

Plus, its distortion. On a mage. You want things to get as far away from you as you can. You'll either kill it with a swing or two, or you push it away from you when a blink, banish, or tele procs.
