YASD orb *run*

Slightly better than last time I guess.

There were too many pan lords! Literally no time to do anything except run and run some more.

The first time I left the Realm of Zot I came face to face with a pan lord, so I went back before his summons noticed.

But I got slaughtered by the other ones.

Next time, i'll make it quicker.

definitely could have used more recharging scrolls though.

Ouch. Ever since I lost a squishy but promising Deep Elf in the Vaults to random teleports, I make Control Teleport an early priority. On the orb run, as soon as a Pan Lord comes into LOS, I just disappear to a stair on the other side of the floor.

I was under the impression that teleport control was disabled while carrying the orb.

i did, twice, but monsters kept spawning non-stop.

biggest problems with this run was probably lack of haste spell, lack of recharge scrolls, and not enough skill in evocations to utilize channeling well.

switching between rMut, and conservation is super annoying! Also, surprisingly, ran outta curing potions (i'm not used to having to use those, having played Ashenzari characters for a while now).

Vehumet is great but if you accidentally leave them only at (almost dead) you don't get back MP, which kinda sucks when you didn't have much left.

most of the guys there were very healthy, having taken only one fire storm. There was also another pan lord around the corner, with his entourage of fellow demons.

also a very good idea; heal up before grabbing the Orb.

Depending on how far back your last orb run was (it hasn't always been -cTele) this might be true.

I was really sad about no haste :(
Now I feel bad about acquiring jewelry.

Sublimation of blood and regeneration didn't appear that useful to me but at that point I really regretted not getting them by this point. Channeling was not the cure-all I thought it would be. The few games I played as necromancers showed me that sublimation is really great for mp regen, so I'll pass on evocations next time. Regeneration, come to think of it, would have been really awesome at that moment cause all I was doing was running and I might as well have been healing while I was at it.
