I'm not sure if it's the same in mac, but on windows when you press # it tells you where your morgue was just dumped.

Press m and turn off at least fighting, short blades,throwing and stealth for now, maybe dodging to, until you have at least maxed magic dart power or have two more power levels of your conjurations.

When you ID remove curse, check all the pieces of armour, like robes, leather armour, boots, helmets, gloves and cloaks, until you find a +2 one or some artifact. Also a buckler if you find one.

Learn battlesphere as soon as you can and use it with magic dart for weak monsters and with blast for stronger.

When you have enough spell power/you can cast all the spells satisfactorily, train some dodging and fighting.

If you find a good weapon, train some of the needed skill.

I think spellcasting also should be turned off, and dodging as well, of course.

I think having at least half of your main school levels in spellcasting is ok
(with the exp progression you won't lose on it and it also helps all the schools, so considering that learning every new level of a new skill is harder, learning spellcasting in moderation can't be that bad, well half of the main schools levels is quite ok, imo. I don't know the real numbers, but I don't think I'm that far of, considering the usefullness of spellcasting for a lot of things, like mp, hunger and spell levels)
