I've been playing some mummies lately. Damn... you learn to value you exp, that I can tell. Trying to get this and that online, I tottaly neglected my defences. I've overtrained conjurations a bit, because I wanted some spells from the book of annihilations, but then iron shot has come by, so I switched to earth.
There are tons of things I want to train and no exp for that... I want fighting to 9-13 which seems to be the easiest task out of those, shields to 5, staves, more evocations... I don't know if I'll survive till I get all that.
I'm planning to go on a suicide mission to elves, because I like doing that. I don't think they are more dangerous than the new monsters from Lair branches, but I might consider those, too. But first I want a buckler from elves.

Going into Elves should be fine as long as you don't go to Elf:3. Your MR is pretty low.

Sorry, I don't understand how Butterflies + Venom Bolt allowed to kill Master Archers. Did you one-shot them while they shoot your butterflies? Care to elaborate?

Strangely, I'm still alive. There was one close call in shoals, because Ilsuiw was just refusing to die, but mostly it has turned into the usual spamming of iron shot which is not what I planned, but it's hard to resist the temptation to go the easy way... Well, I'd like to try focusing on stabbing later. I'm not sure what to do exactly with my skills, though.

Well, it seems that 1) they dodge better than archers, 2) you can retreat behind them after every cast. It helped with blade masters more, but those bastards are a different story, because of their toughness and speed. Oh, and of course tunnels are involved.

You could think that archers should be able to kill those as fast as you summon them(and more as you retreat), but apparantly that's not the case, since I survived with close to no defences.

Btw, what would you learn on this character? I'm thinking IOOD won't help that much with iron shot and LRD. I'm planning to learn LCS some day. Other than that, I'm not sure. I could learn DMsl, I guess, since I have no Dex and EV. I think I'll go for an extended game, so it may be good. If I go to zigs, I might need something like shatter/ice storm, but that's a lot of training. I'd like to max Evo to spam spells, but that would take a huge investment, so I'd better be queit and rely on dith, so about 6-8 levels of stealth could be nice. Somehow with 14 stealth and umbra I'm still being spotted every time.
